A Guy Ritchie musical y’all! I can honestly say I liked this film a lot. It’s fun, it’s beautiful, and did I say fun? After hearing that Ritchie was hired and the issues with casting and that really scary genie in the trailer I had all but given up. The land of Agriba is so rich and fun to be around. Will Smith did his own thing and it works. Mena Massoud and Naomi Scott are hopefully going to breakout more after this is done.  The musical numbers and dancing  are the best part. I’m a huge fan of musicals in general and this movie is at its best when it’s dancing and singing.
I talk a lot about managing expectations and nostalgia. It’s never going to be 1992 again, you’re never going to watch a reimagined movie and have it live up to your nostalgia. This was a really well made movie with great acting that’s a lot of fun to watch.
