Works as a detective movie and hits you right in the nostalgia   The two leads, Pikachu and Justice Smith are really great. A lovable duo off to find answers. What they find on the way is for the most part some really fun interactions with Pokémon I’ve seen my whole life, having been born in 1987 this is my sweet spot. An absolutely terrible “love interest” and female protagonist and an even worse villain, I don’t know how you could get the first two so right and absolutely fail with these. With some Disney Channel bad guy acting and an ending that fell flat, I feel like this really could have been something great. It has some amazing visuals and good laughs for fans of Pokémon and that’s enough for me, just wish it could have stuck the landing.
