This movie is like if Amy Sherman-Palladino was manic depressive.
Melissa McCarthy is really good, I’m not surprised anymore by her acting, she always brings it. What really stands out is Richard E. Grant, he’s always good but this turn was quite an achievement, wish he was on screen more. This movie does lonely and desperate on a different level that I’ve seen on screen, and McCarthy really brought that out. Overall this movie is pretty good, it just didn’t do a lot for me. The acting is top notch though, it’s worth a watch just for Grant.
